EPL Top Four Battle: Premier league giants Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester City brace up for final day clash of the Titans.
The 2019/20 season of the English Premier league is coming to an end, on Sunday the 26th day of July, 2020.
But the final day show down in EPL is set to be livened up by the hot race for who finishes in top 4, thereby qualifying for next season's Champions League. Two teams, Liverpool and Manchester City have already occupied the first and second spot, leaving third and four spots up for grabs.
Tomorrow, is set to witness the hottest top four battle ever in the EPL history as the trio of Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester all have the chance to grab the remaining two slots. One must come short. Following that, we preview the chances of the three teams:
1. MANCHESTER UNITED
United presently occupy the 3rd spot with 63 points, level with Chelsea but tops them on goal difference. What are their chances? Any other outcome but a loss against Leicester City tomorrow will automatically guarantee their spot in UEFA Champions League next season. Losing to Leicester City however, jeopardizes their chance to participate in Champions League next season, as they will now rely on or hope for Chelsea to also lose to Wolves.
2. CHELSEA
Just like United, Chelsea's chances of being in UEFA Champions League next season have some glimmer of hope. Any other outcome but a loss against Wolves, will guarantee them a spot in next season's Champions League irrespective of the outcome of the clash between Manchester United and Leicester. They currently sit 4th on the table, level with United on 63points but trailing United by goal difference. Losing to Wolves may be disastrous, as a win for Leicester against United or draw in the game will condemn them to Europa league.
3. LEICESTER CITY
Leicester City has the toughest job out of the three contestants for the remaining two slots. They currently sit 5th on the log on 62points, just a point behind United and Chelsea on 3rd and 4th consecutively. Their best chance of being in Champions League next season would be to beat Manchester United, as a draw with Manchester United and a draw in Chelsea's match with Wolves, will send them to Europa league. However, if Chelsea lose to Wolves, and they manage a draw against united, they will leapfrog Chelsea into top four. Looks like a tough mountain to climb for them.
Who makes it to the top 4? Let's brace up for tomorrow as it promises to be mouth-watering in EPL final show down tomorrow.
